O Skew is a version of O Chair, one of By Pizarro's best sellers. After the prototyping phase for O chair, we began ideating leg design options for new generations. Our inspiration came from a one-point perspective sketch. The legs come to a point behind the chair to give it an elongated characteristic. Ultimately we wanted to create a sculptural cornerpiece and decided that our focus would go into producing perspective legs. The legs are easy to manufacture and inexpensive. We sourced standard rectangular tubing with sheeting to create the stainless steel legs. The sheeting is welded to the legs and attached to the wood through a hidden bolted system. This design did not expose the hardware because the design needed to remain elegant and undeterred.
