By Pizarro designed the interior and many furnishings for Blinking Owl Distillery in Santa Ana California. Blinking Owl Distillery describes itself as "the very first craft distillery in Orange County. We also are one of the first distilleries in the state of California to hold the Type 74 Craft Distillers License allowing us to operate our tasting room and sell a few bottles. We make vodka, gin, several types of whiskey, and the Scandinavian spirit, aquavit." We love how exclusive and particular they treated their products and wanted to give the same experience for their interior and exterior spaces. With a modern and utilitarian twist, we designed and produced the majority of the common spaces in the distillery. Blinking Owl Distillery took advantage of our design capabilities and hired us also to design custom furniture for the space. We love it when clients encourage absolute uniqueness in their area. It allows the spacial design to speak as honestly about its composition and layout. With custom furnishings, one can create details down to the stitching. When manufacturing and producing this Blinking Owl Distillery, we decided to do most of the millwork at a facility in California and ship the custom furnishings directly to a port in Long Beach. Because of the choice to use high-end furniture to represent the majority of the interior design the millwork remained simple with a focus on materials that spoke directly with the furnishings.
