Flow Lounge

Flow, the lounge chair, is a corner piece designed for residential or commercial spaces. Because of the lounging comfort, the seat proportions are more significant allowing one to fall comfortably into the product. At By Pizarro we like to display the essence of materials. We believe this brings out the form. The stainless steel tubing surrounding the leather acts as a net and structure for the seat. We decided the cushion would consist of high-grade giving the experience of sinking into comfort. Flow lounge is the perfect design to pair by a small coffee table in a reading area. Its negative space allows the leather to peak through and reveal itself beneath the stainless nest. The back pillow is maneuverable which lends to place it depending on your lean. We are happy to have seen people use this chair in many different positions, from cross-legged to sitting on the arm. The chair is durable and high-quality.

Flow lounge is made up of two parts, the leather cushions and stainless steel structure.

Stainless Steel

The stainless steel has multiple weights and variations. The mesh is thinner and supports the leather cushions, the legs are heavier to withstand weight while the hidden pins lock the structure to the cushion.

Cushion

The cushion is help together through wooden sheets to help it maintain its shape over time.The wood also helps the structure securely lock into the pins.

CONSTRUCTION

Flow lounge was designed to be mass produced and manufactured with ease. The lounge was designed to fall into the production line with only three segments, the frame for the cushion, upholstery, and welding. The stainless steel bars are used to hold the cushion and seat in place and helps save on cost due to their fundamental abilities to hold more weight. We were able to reduce the amount of metal mesh on its base and incorporated a pin system to lock into the cushion rather than by the simple resting method.
